Just like in the matrix, we can create our own virtual reality. No, I don't mean by using video games, simulators, or anything of that matter.
We are capable of imagining any situation, weather real or not, in our mind. You can be the creator of your own worlds by dreaming, imaging, mind-wandering.
Because of this, many great leaders have used this power of visualization to create the world we live in today. Some examples are:
This power is available to anyone. Several studies also show the effects of imagining yourself performing and practicing a skill. It actually enhances your performance of that skill in real life.
In a controlled experiment, psychologist R. A Vandell proved that mental practice in throwing darts at a target, wherein the person sits for a period each day in front of the target, and imagines throwing darts at it, improves aim as much as actually throwing darts. - Maltz, Maxwell. Psycho-cybernetics. Englewood Cliffs, N.J.: Prentice-Hall, 1960. 35. Print.
You can practice any skill without performing it in real life. We can imagine anything we want and experience anything. We dont need simulators, virtual renderers, or any other technological device. All you need is your mind. It will create anything you desire.
Your nervous system cannot tell the difference between an actual experience and one that is vividly imagined. - Maltz, Maxwell. Psycho-cybernetics. Englewood Cliffs, N.J.: Prentice-Hall, 1960. 35. Print.
Think of anything you desire, anything you've been wanting for a long time. It could be a new car, it could be that business you've wanted to build or a project you've been putting off. Now imagine that, imagine yourself in your new car, running your business. Fully immerse in your own imagination, your dreams, your thoughts and desires. Where are you? What does it feel like? What sounds do you hear?
Experience it as if it were real, and it shall become real.
